Abs Training – Is There More To It?

After doing a lot of research looking for core exercises for men and checking into all the fads and magic potions, I came across some great information that sort of put the entire thing about abs training into perspective. It’s not just about doing a million sit ups or back extensions. And it’s not about taking months and months to see results either… I wanted to see something working quickly, something that I could consistently do and not feel like I was wasting my time.

Well, I ended up getting this program on line called “The Truth About Abs”… and I was a little skeptical about buying something over the internet because I had never done it before and the reviews this program got were great.

Anyway, nothing motivates me better than quick results and I think you’d agree, so if you are looking to get a flat stomach fast then check out these five tips (I can’t give away the whole book, now can I?).

1.  Interval training. Simple to implement especially if you are already active. Just add a small bit of exertion to what you are already doing… if you aren’t doing anything then… well… you’ll have to start.

Here is an example:  let’s say that you are going to walk for 30 minutes a day, then just add in a minute or two minutes of jogging every 5 minutes.

2.  Start swimming. One of the keys is to do exercises that target the whole body and swimming is a fantastic whole body exercise that really burns fat and works all of your muscles and joints. You don’t have to do it all the time, just add one swimming workout a week to your routine. I find that mixing things up also prevents boredom. You can also try rock climbing.. man this works the whole body really well… it’s not all about the arms.

3. Adjust your fat intake. You don’t have to eliminate all fats, some fat is necessary for optimal health. What you do want to do is to modify your fat intake so you’re eating lean protein at every meal and eating less saturated fat and absolutely no trans fats. Fish, chicken breasts, nuts, avocados and olive oil are all excellent and very healthy fats.

4. Eat more often. Sounds good, right?  What you do is eat 5-6 smaller meals a day so you’re not consuming more calories than you normally would but you’re simply eating smaller meals more frequently. This helps to optimize your metabolism so your energy is more consistent and you will burn more fat and calories around the clock.

5. This is a biggie… skip the fast food. There is so much fat in fast food, you wouldn’t believe it. It’s really bad for you and while some chains are offering healthier alternatives (if you count a deep fried chicken caesar salad with 1,000 calories healthier) your better off taking control of your meals and pack your own lunch and snacks.

You can add these tips into your abs training and when the fat starts to burn away… you get to see that killer six pack! To find out how I did it, check out The Truth About Abs
